Agro Cycle Tour + More

Published on

Georgia Food Tours has stepped up to the dinner plate again to put a spin on sustainable food tours. Three times a year, Georgia Food tours offers the opportunity to strap on a helmet and spend the day learning about and tasting farm fresh, local food – sustainable meals on wheels.

The upcoming fall Agro Cycle Tour on September 14 will take riders along a 50-mile path through the city of Monroe, Ga. Each of the four farms visited along the route give patrons the chance to see exactly where and how the food is grown with the farmers themselves.

The bike tour is split up into sections of about 15 miles between farms before riders head back to William Harris Homestead for a fully satisfying, fully farm-sourced meal.

Prior to lunch, edibles are also offered at each of the three previous farms: Foster-Brady Farm, Darby Farms and Down to Earth Energy. Each farm on the tour offers a unique story that includes farm animals and beautiful scenery, as well as notable venues and demonstrations. While a bike mechanic and SAG wagon will be on hand, bikers are asked to BYOB - Bring Your Own Bike. Other patrons may be more interested in following the tour via car or joining post ride for only the lunch portion of the trek.

Whichever your preference, to ride or drive, Georgia Food Tours is more than happy to accommodate. Check out the website at Georgiafoodtours.com for more information regarding this tour, as well as the many others offered throughout the year.
